BULLETIN #2

Tournament Details
Practice Round: Monday, June 3rd
Teams will sign up for tee times for a practice round, with consideration to those travelling.  A separate email will be sent directly to coaches to schedule tee off times.  Teams are required to arrive 30 minutes prior to their tee time to register, have your team photo taken, and pick up score sheets.

Round 1: Tuesday, June 4th
Teams are to arrive at the course at prior to the first tee time for a coaches meeting.  The first tee time will be published in a future bulletin . The person listed as the coach on the entry form will be placed in the draw for the Tuesday round as close to their team as possible. Other coaches will also be slotted into the draw, where it is in the best interest of the running of the tournament.

Round 2: Wednesday, June 5th
The draw for the final round will be determined by the first day scores and will be distributed at the banquet. Tee times will also be posted at the course prior to the round. Wednesday’s final round will be a shot gun start and will begin. Coaches will not play on day two of competition.  Coaches may walk the course with their student athletes but are not permitted to coach or offer advise to their athletes. The awards presentation will be conducted immediately following the 2nd round and all participants are asked to remain for these ceremonies.

Tournament Structure
The ‘A’ Golf Provincial tournament will consist of two 18-hole rounds, played over two days.  The team with the lowest total score for 36 holes will be the winner and Provincial Champions.
  • No two (2) players representing the same school shall be in the same foursome
  • For Round 1, golfers will be placed according to team placement (eg: number 1 golfers play together)
  • For Round 2, golfers will be placed according to their first day team totals with number 1 golfers playing with each other etc.
  • One coach from each school will be included on the tee sheet on Day 1 of the competition and will tee off in front of or behind their team. Any other coach associated with that team may be accommodated where they can fit into the draw.
  • Only student-athletes are allowed to play on the 2nd day of the championship. No coaches or other guests are permitted to participate without permission of the Tournament Director or BC School Sports.

The tournament will have volunteer officials on the course to assist players with rulings. The pace of play will be closely monitored at this event. Players are expected to be knowledgeable of, and comply with, the rules of the game. Participants have been disqualified in past years for breaches of BC School Sports’ rules.

The Tournament Host and BC School Sports have worked hard to provide a quality experience. We cannot stress enough the importance that all student- athletes maintain the high caliber of conduct and sportsmanship your school expects of you.
