Berthing
Provincial tournament berth allocations are determined by the BCSS Rugby Berthing Committee, who is named by the Executive Director, with support from the Rugby SAC Chair. Every zone is represented on the committee. No half or shared berths are awarded.
The Committee have examined the following metrics to determining berthing:
Current season results; exhibition, regular season, Cross-Zone games etc.
Number of registered teams in each zone
Historical strength of zones and teams within the zones.
Important Dates
Team Registration (STARS) Deadline: April 8th, 2026
Roster Deadline Registration: April 22nd, 2026
XV’s or 7’s Team Declaration Deadline: April 22nd, 2026
Deadline for Zones to decline allocated berths: May 1st, 2026
Zone Championships Completed: May 19th, 2026
Championship Registration Deadline: May 20th, 2026
Tournament Structure
Girls AA/ AAA XV’s: Both Girl’s AA and AAA XV’s Provincial Championships consist of eight (8) teams. Each team will play in a championship elimination bracket or consolation bracket.
Boys AA/ AAA XV’s: Both Boy’s AA and AAA XV’s Provincial Championships consist of 16 teams split into two tiers of eight (8) teams. Each team will play in a championship elimination bracket or consolation bracket. Tier allocations are determined by the BCSS appointed seeding committee.
