Volleyball Additional Information (AA/AAA Boys )
Berthing
  • Each zone will receive one automatic berth. There is also one berth allocated to the tournament host.
  • Three (3) berths will be allocated based on the percentage of active senior programs in each BCSS zone. Berth allocations will be finalized following the team registration deadline (Oct 2nd).
    • Teams must meet the minimum player registration on their STARS roster by the deadline date to be considered for zone berthing allocations.
      • Teams that register after the team registration deadline will remain eligible to qualify for a provincial championship berth.
    • Inactive teams (teams that are not actively practicing and competing) will be removed from the berthing ratio calculations.
  • The remaining three (3) berths are considered at-large berths and will be awarded to zones at the discretion of the seeding committee based on the strength of the zone.
    • Allocation of at-large berths will be communicated to zones and schools by November 8th (which will be prior to the commencement of zone championship tournaments).
    • If a zone is unable to fill its berths, the berths will go back into the total number of at-large berths available.
    • No zone will receive more than 4 berths (not including host berth) into the provincial championships.
    • It's important to note that at-large berths are allocated to zones rather than specific schools.
  • If a zone does not fill their berth, it will be allocated to the at-large berth pool.
    • Zones will need to confirm their intent to send teams to provincials Nov 1.
STARS Registration
  • All student athletes must be registered on your school’s STARS roster.
  • Coaches need to be added to your STARS rosters by October 16th.  Only coaches on the STARS roster will be permitted to be on the team’s sidelines for provincial championship matches.
  • All coaches, managers, and assistants listed on school team rosters must complete the Concussion Awareness Training Tool (CATT) for Coaches. CATT certification is valid for two years - cattonline.com
